Civil War. In a small Crimean town occupied by the White Guards, a Moscow film group is filming a salon drama. The leading actors are the silent film star Olga Voznesenskaya and the equally famous Maksakov. The group's cameraman Viktor Pototsky (leader of an underground group of revolutionaries) is illegally filming arrests and executions.
